On demand bus service – PINGO

PINGO is an on-demand bus service which allows customers to book a journey not served by a regular service and is operated by Prentice Coaches. It operates within an area of the county linking rural communities of East Saltoun, Humbie and New Winton to Tranent, Blindwells, Meadowmill Sports Centre, Longniddry and East Lothian Community Hospital and also links up with other services in the existing transport network.

Journeys can be pre-booked using the Ride Pingo app (Ride Pingo on Apple App Store and Ride Pingo on Google Play), online at www.prentice.info or by phone – 01620 822620. Passengers then get on board at nearest pick up point or bus stop and dropped off at their chosen destination or bus stop for onward travel.

Help SEPA identify local flood risks

SEPA have launched a consultation to review areas most at risk of flooding across Scotland. These places will be given the designation Potential Vulnerable Areas (PVAs). PVAs are areas where significant flood risk exists now or is likely to occur in the future and are used to identify locations where a partnership approach may be required to resolve widespread and often complex flooding issues.

SEPA want to hear the views of people in communities on the proposed PVAs. After the consultation closes on 24 June 2024, they will publish a summary of responses on their website. To find out more please follow the link to the SEPA PVA survey.

Green Futures Festival

East Lothian Climate Hub is organising the Green Futures Festival, a series of inspirational talks, practical workshops, a showcase of local activities and climate visions for a bright future.

This is an opportunity to connect and learn more about local District heat networks, Tool libraries, Nature restoration, Retrofitting, Community farms, Climate Cafes, and more. Activities for families inside and outdoors, local bands and food. Loose parts play, willow weaving, mini beast hunts, woodland activities and explore the grounds.

This festival will bring together individuals, community groups and organisations to share and learn about amazing work already taking place in East Lothian and build a vision for a positive future for our environment and people.
